Tampa Woman Needs Living Kidney Donor

35296438 1551293695114873 r

Betsy Urrea is a 27 years old Tampa woman from Hillsborough County, Florida. She was first diagnosed with kidney disease about 10 years ago in 2009 while in high school.  She was diagnosed with Glomerulonephritis. which is acute inflammation of the kidney. When diagnosed, doctors noticed both kidneys had already suffered severe damage. Urrea was also diagnosed with Factor V Leiden and developed her first blood clot during that time period. She had to undergo several blood & plasma transfusions. Unfortunately, failing kidneys comes with other health problems and in her case high blood pressure, gout flare ups and a few more blood clots. After years of treatment and medications, she was starting to feel better and she has been able to go about 10 years without the need of a transplant but tragically her kidneys kept getting worse. This brings her to today. She is now in stage 5 kidney failure and needs a transplant.

Erin Cornell from California needs a living Kidney donor

Erin

Erin Cornell is 29-years-old only and grew up in Yorba Linda, California. She was born with congenital heart disease, she has had 4 open heart surgeries and has been fighting kidney disease her whole life. Erin first received a transplant 13 years back from her mom when she was16, however that kidney failed two years ago. Now, she is in stage 5 kidney failure andin need of another transplantto save her life and get off dialysis. Dialysis is not a cure, it simply buys some time before one is able to get a transplant. Dialysis has become more and more drainingfor her, mentally and physically but she is very positive and want to have her life back. Her antibodies are so high that it makes it difficult for people in her close family to qualify to donate. This also makes the situation more difficult to find a kidney that her body will accept but it’s not impossible. She is very positive about finding a match and keep battling this horrible disease. She is able to accept type A (+,-) and O (+,-) blood types. Are you in good health and have the desire to save a life? If you answered yes, please contact

Margot Datta, 45 from Natherlands needs a living Kidney donor

Dutta

Margot Datta, 45, of Culemborg, Netherlands, requires an immediate kidney donation from a living donor. She is looking for someone with blood type A+, or compatible.

Her story:

Hello, my name is Margot Datta and I am 45 years old.

At the age of 14 I became very ill and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which impacted my kidneys.

In 1996, my mother donated a kidney to me. Unfortunately, this didn’t go well and the kidney needed to be removed two months later. I was then on dialysis for over two years which was painful and very tiring.

In 1998, I received a kidney transplant from a deceased donor that worked for over 20 years; however the kidney function has decreased over the past few years to now where it is only at 5%. I am back on dialysis four times a day and now require a new kidney.

My prognosis is not good, and my time is limited if I do not receive a kidney transplant soon.

I’m on the waiting list of eurotransplant. The waiting period is on average 3 years; however in my case it’s going to take longer because I already had 2 previous transplants. I have a lot of antibodies in my blood. This means that I am also hard to match. My blood type is A+.

The best chance for my surviving is to find a living donor. Transplants with living donors gives me a better chance of success In my case because I can get a treatment for the transplant to have my antibodies removed in my blood (desensitization).

The UMC Utrecht, is ready to take care of my donor and can assist in any information required. There’s a recovery time of a few weeks, but people can live very well with one kidney, provided you are healthy. My mother has not experienced any adverse consequences of the donation and has been living with 1 kidney for more than 22 years.

I’m now looking for a living donor. Do you know of someone or are you someone who can save my life by giving me a kidney?

Love, Margot

13-month-old baby needs a bone marrow match

unnamed

Maci Hyman is only a 13-month-old baby girl from South Carolina. At this tender young age, instead of playing with other kids, her activities take place in a room at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital, where she’s been hospitalized since January. Maci was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndrome, which is a disease that disrupts the bone marrow production of healthy blood cells in her body, often it is a precursor to leukemia. Doctors advised her parents to search for a bone marrow match since bone marrow transplant is the only thing that can 100 percent cure the disease.

Are you in good health and want to save a life? If you answered yes, please visit  BeTheMatch.org and take the test to see if you can save Maci. The test is just swabbing the inside of your mouth with a cotton swab. The test is simple and free for anyone. You can also donate to help Maci’s family with medical expenses by clicking https://www.gofundme.com/maci-mae039s-fight-against-leukemia or click https://www.facebook.com/macisfight/ for more information.
